Lincoln, NE – The Lincoln Children’s Museum is thrilled to announce the grand opening celebration of its highly anticipated permanent exhibit, Here We Grow. This exciting event is set to take place on December 9th, welcoming visitors for a day of exploration and fun from 9am to 3pm, with an exclusive members-only preview from 8am to 9am.

Tara Knuth, the Museum’s Executive Director, expressed her enthusiasm for this exciting addition to their ever-evolving lineup of exhibits. She said, “We are thrilled to introduce ‘Here We Grow’ to the community. This exhibit is a unique opportunity for children and their families to connect with our state’s rich agricultural heritage while having a blast in an immersive, hands-on environment.”

Designed with a focus on interactive play, the exhibit boasts a variety of activities that allow children to explore the world of farming and agriculture in a way that is both entertaining and educational.

One of the standout features of the exhibit is the water table. Visitors can learn about the important role of water in agriculture as they explore irrigation, manipulate the pivot, control water run-off, and more. Guests can also role-play different careers in agriculture, care for a life-sized steer and pig, gather eggs from the chicken coop, and even “drive” a combine. Each component of the exhibit is designed to promote fine and gross motor skills and instill an understanding and respect for the people, animals, and machinery that are essential to agriculture.

The grand opening celebration will be brimming with excitement, featuring giveaways while supplies last and specially curated activities on each level of the Museum. Attendees will have the exclusive chance to be among the first to explore the brand-new exhibit, engaging in a day of learning and entertainment for the whole family.

Plans have already been laid for future additions to the Here We Grow exhibit, featuring a three-story Luckey climbing play structure – the first of its kind in Nebraska. For more information about the Lincoln Children’s Museum and the Here We Grow exhibit, please visit lincolnchildrensmuseum.org.
