Why should I sign-up for this membership as a first-time parent?
Young children benefit from the power of play in so many ways, specifically in the very early stages of life. In addition to supporting the little one’s growing mind and body, the Museum also seeks to support new parents with connections to resources and growing community of families.
What happens when my child turns 18 months?
When your membership expires, you will have the option to join one of our other membership programs or begin paying regular admission for your Museum visits. We offer a range of paid membership options as well admission discounts for those that qualify.
What is the difference between First-Time Parent Membership and the Basic Membership?
First-Time Parent Membership is for those families that have one child under the age of 18 months. The Basic Family Membership Program is a membership offering that you can purchase here>>. The benefits are the same with the exception of special First-Time Parent events like Baby’s First Halloween.
My child is not born yet, can I apply early?
Your child’s date of birth determines the expiration date of your membership and is required on the application so please wait until after your child is born.
Can I add grandparents or other family members to this membership?
- The First-Time Parent Membership program allows two named adults on the membership. Our policy is that anyone who helps you care for your child can be named as an adult on your membership. No other children can be added to your First-Time Parent Membership Program.
- When you visit using your First-Time Membership, only the two named adults and infant will be allowed free admission. If you have additional friends or family whom you would like to bring to the museum, they can purchase a paid membership or pay regular admission at the Welcome Desk upon arrival.
We just became new parents of twins/triplets/quadruplets; are we eligible for the First-Time Parent Membership?
Yes! The First Time Membership covers two named adults and one infant, or in your case of multiples, your twins/triplets/quadruplets.
Do I qualify if I have multiple children, and all of them are under 18 months of age?
- The First-Time Parent Membership covers two named adults and one child under the age of 18 months. If you have more than one child under 18 months and it is not a case of twins/triplets/quadruplets, only the eldest child would be covered by this membership program and the younger children would not receive the benefits of this membership. Children under the age of 18 months always receive free general admission to the Lincoln Children’s Museum.
- For families with more than one child, we recommend either the Annual Basic or the Annual Basic +One. We also offer subsidized general admission for those that qualify.
We are a blended family that includes a first child under 18 months of age, but there are other children in our family; do we qualify for this membership?
- The First-Time memberships program is intended for first-time parents and includes just two named adults and one infant under the age of 18 months. Due to these conditions, the other children in your household would not receive the benefits of this membership.
- For families with more than one child, we recommend either the Annual Basic or the Annual Basic +One. We also offer subsidized general admission for those that qualify.
I am a first-time parent of an adopted child over the age of 18 months, do I qualify?
Unfortunately, not at this time. The First-Time Parent program is intended for those with a child under 18 months. The program materials and resources are tailored to this specific age group.
We are foster parents who often care for infants in our home; do we qualify for this membership?
Unfortunately, not at this time. The First-Time Parent program is only available for a single period with one infant, therefore due to these conditions, your family may not be eligible for the First-Time Parent Membership.
What if my child is under the age of 18 months, but I already purchased a museum membership?
Memberships cannot be returned, refunded or transferred; however, you can request to be enrolled to receive First-Time Membership Program informational resources and program information. Please contact info@lincolnchildrensmuseum.org with your specific situation.
