Workin’ on the Railroad - Summer Camp
Guaranteed to be full of play and learning, our fun-filled week-long camps are offered during the summer! Available for children in grades rising 1st – 3rd grade.
Join us August 4 – August 8 for CAMP PLAY! week-long summer camp: “Workin’ on the Railroad”
All aboard for this special week of camp! Campers will be involved in a special project this week as they learn about trains and railroads. Throughout the week, they will be constructing their very own model train display that will then all connect to be displayed at the Lancaster County Fair!
Themed activities and playtime will include exhibit floor time where public visitors may be present.
Schedule:
- Check-In: 8:00am – 8:30am
- Check-Out: 4:00pm – 4:30pm

- Member: $255 (members save $40)
- Non-Member: $295
Add a meal from our Kazoo’s U-STOP Café for $6.50! Includes an entrée, side of chips or crackers, Oreo cookies and drink. Select “attendee lunch” price option at registration.
Camp Scholarship Application
Thanks to a generous donation from the Johnny Carson Foundation, the application for the Summer of 2025 is available.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicant families must meet one of the following criteria in addition to meeting the age requirement for LCM summer camps (must be entering grades 1st-3rd for the 2025-2026 school year). One application per child will be accepted.
- Your household/child is eligible for the school-based Free or Reduced Lunch Program
- Your household/child qualifies for SNAP/EBT/WIC benefits
- Your household income is below 250% of the federal poverty level
Scholarships are awarded on a rolling basis pending availability of funds.
Once a scholarship application is submitted, caretaker(s) will be contacted within 7 business days on award status.
Each child accepted will receive one (1) week-long scholarship that covers the LCM program registration fee and five (5) hot lunches to be used during the awarded week. Scholarships will be applied to registrations by the Museum and no transfer of funds will take place.
Any scholarships awarded that households wish not to accept/are unable to use because of scheduling will be forfeited for the 2025 summer season. No funds will be saved/rolled over to future programs.
